Anyone know whether "Leopard" can be run on an iMac G4 1 GHZ 17" flat panel when the OS is released.

So far it looks as if only G3 support has been dropped. Any G4 should be fine providing you give it plenty of RAM.

Yes, but it may not run that well...make sure you have plenty of RAM :)

I have a friend who has the most recent beta running smoothly on a b/w. So it looks like while support will be dropped, it still may work on many legacy machines.
But yeah, all official reports from Apple say that Leopard will run on G4 and up.

appleinsider reported (http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/07/09/24/updated_leopard_requirements_to_exclude_800mhz_systems.html) that leopard will require a minimum of a 867 mhz g4 processor. i'm sure it'll run on a slower system, but i don't know how snappy or worthwhile it will be.

Max out the RAM and everything should be fine. I've never actually used Leopard, so that's just a guess.

that seems like a high requirement in my opinion although appears to be true
