I have wanted to go into the Apple store with my powerbook running Panther and a HD full of bootleg software (PS8 beta, etc.) and ask them to fix it because it has some imaginary malfunction associated with Panther. Then, when the clerk asks if I am a developer, I want to answer "no" and see how he reacts and see if he actually fixes my computer. If he refuses, Ill just start aruguing with him.

Plus, Id be getting this all on film.

Anyone else got anything?

Make the alert sound be "Attention! You have downloaded a virus! Please delete the Applications folder and restart the computer!"

Or maybe use TextEdit and speach to have 2 computers have an hour-long conversation with each other.

good question...

since I don't feel regret for anything that's happened or not in my life...I should think about this... ;)

I'm with edesignuk - and the only way that will happen is if I plan on leaving. I have on several occasions really come close, though.

Does using the open sunroof in Bill Gates' car as a toilet and his shirts as TP count?

With my luck I'd a stomach virus, and be saddled with diarrhea, the only chance I'd get to go through with it.

I've always wanted to go either skydiving or flying in an F-16. I doubt either of those will happen in the span of my lifetime..... Maybe the skydiving one. Skydiving has to be a huge rush, not to mention the view up there.

Hey, if George senior could do it, then the only thing stopping you is yourself. You can go and jump tandem with an instructor and it won't cost more than $100 some places.

I'd like to go to the moon or somewhere in space. I know I never would, but it would be wild to look back on the earth from up there.

Hmmmmm........

I would like to become friends with this girl from my grade named Kelly.

I would have liked to be agressive and short tempered like most of the boys I know. (But I don't think I would ever even dream of hitting someone, and it takes a lot to get me really mad).

I would have liked to exchange some of those hours playing starcraft for hours of learning VB, c++, java, and cocoa. ;)

I would like to get my dad a ****ing cord from his small intestines to the waste treatment plant, because everymorning he farts ~400 times on his way to the toilet (stinking up the whole house) and then makes a bathroom inacessable for a couple hours by taking a **** in there. His 'morning dump'.

actually, your dad's waste-producing habits could produce fuel adequate to heat your home, if properly harnessed.

I did a science fair project where I captured methane from cow dung (yes, I had it sitting in a jug in my house, near the kitchen no less!). It really is quite efficient.

I hear pig dung is nice too. Human stuff isn't as good, but with your dad's quantities, it might do the trick. ;)

Ditto. That has to be the most amazing feeling in the world. I'm not really interested in other planets, but going to the Moon... what a rush! And only a handful of people have ever gotten a chance at it. Well, maybe someday...

Okay I guess there are a few things I could mention in here I hadn't immediately thought of. I always wanted to go into the Navy and get to be on a Nuclear sub. I guess a private personal sub would be a lot of fun too. Also in the Navy get to fly a F/A 18 Hornet. Get a ride on the Space Shuttle. Meet Alien life. Be an F1 driver.

Okay that's enough for now the list goes on.....

Actually I would to have liked to run for government office, but I know I'm too honest and politically naive to last very long. It's sad really, but many politicians these days put their own personal agenda above what's best for the public... that's gotta change.

Everything I've wanted to do I've either have done or will do one day.
Or are on the list of "things that i have to do once in my life" - such as driving a ferrari, getting a plane without (having / buying a) ticket, get married, have sex in an airplane, dry coca ...

Or maybe I'll not try coca. I'm just afraid that I would like it.

Walk up to a harry potter fan, dressed in full character garb, if they knew when the devil is signing his next book.

Oh wait....

I've never gotten to say "I have a plane to catch", nor broken a beer bottle over a bar countertop :( I've also never gotten the lead in a play :(

What?

Also agreeing with MacBandit. ((cough) f*** my elementary (cough))

One thing I (most likely) will not do is something I got from an email. But it would be interesting to go into a clothing department's fitting room and yell "We're out of toilet paper in here!"

Being invisible would be really cool but it's hardly something that you wish you had done in your life. Besides being invisible would really suck in large crowds and in traffic in a big city. SPLAT!!!

Seriously, I'd love to track down the first karate sensei I had, he always maintained that karate was the best martial art, I'd really love to kick his arse all round the dojo using aikido.

Live a day over and over and wake up the next morning in the same place no matter what happened like in Groundhog Day (the movie) but be able to stop whenever I wanted, so that I could try anything without consequences for as long as I wanted and then step back to reality.

If you're serious about the skydiving, do it! I did it once. Don't know if I'll ever do it again though. Jumped with two guys literally just holding onto me and they let go when I started to open my chute. Went through about four hours of training just to learn what to do if my chute didn't open right, but the view was incredible, and I didn't have some big guy strapped onto me!

Oh, I'd like to walk the Appalachian Trail.

All of those things that would kill me if I tried them. Psycho-madman snow-skiing, jumping off a cliff with my motorcycle and a chute (those guys are nuts!) etc. All appeal so much, but I know I'd just crumble physically. I have attempted the skiing, and let me just say it was quite painful - just couldn't grasp the 'snowplow' technique; rather: straight down, full-speed ahead - IMPACT! Lie there - stare into the heavens, moan if you can unearth yourself, attempt to re-assemble and carry-off your body parts... not pretty.

Also I'd like to be a defensive back, or a corner, if even for just one quarter, but again images of crushing pain till death take over. (5'7" 140, but I'm fast!:D )

I guess it would also be great to participate in some cutting-edge research project. DNA/Cell biology, stuff like that - fascinating.

My family and I went to St. Louis last weekend (me, my wife and the kids, 2 & 5) and after going up in the Arch we took the 1 hour riverboat cruise. While on the river the tour guide was talking and a row boat with two young men loaded with gear goes floating by. He said they were probably canoeing the entire Mississippi river and probably started somewhere up north and would end in LA. He said it would take about a month to complete the journey.

I thought, man, that would be cool. It would take a lot of character to make that trip. I started thinking that maybe my wife and I could make that trip one day and what fun we would have and we'd bond and we could tell our tales for years to come. Then my youngest child starting yelling and throwing popcorn and I snapped back to reality. I'll never make that trip.

Aug 27, 2003, 12:43 AM
That's not all that difficult a trip to realize!
I keep a light on that once the kids are grown, I'm taking an entire summer, I'm gonna make everything I own fit into a single backpack, hop on the Harley and head off on a roadtrip to Alaska.
It is possible, and I'm planning on it. Don't say it's not gonna happen, plan for it and make it happen!

bought a G4 tower back in 99...but got ibook instead which is nice

toured the us with my band for a few months back in 96 or 97...but work kept us all in town

studied in an overseas mba program back in 95-96...didn't want to shell out extra expenses

finished college back in 87...got married instead too young

played more sports in hs...78-82...but still did track and soccor

kissed this one girl in 75...but at least i had a pen pal when she went to east coast

...actually, the only truly daring and impulsive thing i ever did in my life was get married young and elope...but otherwise, i have played it safe and now that i am almost 40, i am even more conservative and low key and i like living in the same small town i was born in

Good question. I have a few things:

1) I'd love to tell my last boss what a complete prat he was and exactly why we were annoyed with him, plus why I didn't like his ideas even though he was a professor and I was a lowly research assistant

2) I'd love to tell the boss of the company I'm temping for where she's going wrong, even though she's an MD and I shouldn't need to point out to her where she's going wrong

3) I'd love to shout at the people who just rejected me from a job when during the interview you couldn't stop them nodding, agreeing with whatever I said and saying "good answer!"
