iPod touch and Firewire

hey everyone..

just ordered my ipod touch 16g (was 18g, my mistake) yesterday from apple australia store... yay!

Has anyone used the ipod firewire cable with the ipod touch? does it work? if so, is the speed to sync faster?

Didn't know they had 18 gig iPod Touches...

From what Ive heard, seems like you can charge w/ the firewire adapter, but not sync.

I may be wrong.

Yup, you can charge via firewire, but NOT sync.

I presume they took out the firewire controller from the PCB to save space/power, but I'd still like to have the faster firewire connection personally :(
