Hello everybody,

I have ordered an OEM version of windows XP because I thought it wise to steer clear of vista at present. I was a bit unsure as to what the B suffice meant though. Is this just the latest version of Service Pack 2? Will it run on my intel Mac all right through boot camp beta?

Thanks just not sure about the "B" :o

SPB is an OEM only copy of Windows. It was created to allow more serial numbers to work. Due to the unprecedented amount of time XP has been on the market, Microsoft is starting to run out of acceptable serial numbers. SPB uses a new key algorithm to allow more serial numbers.

Beyond that, no new functionality :).

Nevermind, my explanation applies to SP2C, not SP2B. I'm not sure what the difference is between SP2 and SP2B, but rest assured it will run in Boot Camp.

Thanks zackwag. I'm a bit of a novice on the mac. i have just ordered a refurbished white 24inch model so wanted to run windows on it too.

Thanks
