I just saw this article:

http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5gMqBdewPPJA5HLNNNy47yq3lLSMA

It raised so many questions and thoughts; the first main question is: was this really a suicide?

Why would someone who has dealt in sleeze and its consequences his entire career give up now?

Why was he able to even come to the table asking for 1.2 million and more? What value are wedding pictures for extortion? Was there something incriminating in the photos?

I did a quick google search and found their wedding pics here:

http://www.people.com/people/gallery/0,,1073518_1560535,00.html

So why would releasing additional pics he took be such a big deal? How did he get inside the wedding? If he trespassed why not try him for trespassing?

Although I really couldn't care less about Tom Cruise (or any celeb either for that matter), and I know nothing of the situation, but having a life filled with "sleeze" as you say can take a tole on a person. Same with being wildly successful in a "clean" industry. If you don't have the proper perspective, or motivation, you will eventually feel very empty inside. That can lead to self-destructive behavior and suicide in some cases

The idea being we ask who he is, you reply "I can't say", and everyone hopefully regards you with awe.

Oh come now. I'd be very surprised if several people on this board aren't in some way related to or close friends of a few household names.

Some may be 'household names' in their own right...

CyberGypsy has mentioned it before. Those with memories will know who.
I don't think anyone has changed their way of interacting with CG because of the info and CG does not drop the name into every post possible.

The only adoration and awe I apply is to my partner.

As for these "celebrities" let them celebrate their boringness else where for the dull and drearyness of the hopelessly unimaginative people out there with nothing more in their pea sized brains but to stare longingly at the tabloids and tacky magazines.

There must be a few punctuation marks missing from that sentence. I read it faster than I should have.

Don't want to toot my own horn but, in my tequila drinking days, me and the toilet were pretty close.

Well, for one, Paris is in France, the country where your so-called step-brother Johnny Depp lives.

And Paris is also home to the Eiffel Tower. Tom Cruise proposed to Katie Holmes on the Eiff...

Holy crap, Tom Cruise hired Johnny Depp to kill the extortion guy and make it look like a suicide.
