It will probably be a few weeks before I pick this up, but I've been dying for some first-hand reviews.

So has anyone bought this yet? What are your thoughts?

its not available till tomorrow here in Vancouver.

I am mixed... the controls seem cool but a few reviews say they can be a pain at times since it misinterprets the motion you give. And sailing the ****ing boat reminds me of the boredom that was 50% of Wind Waker (still the best look Zelda game)

I bought and played it, but only for about 20 - 30 minutes. Not because it's bad, but simply because I have a biomechanics midterm tomorrow that I really need to study for (taking a quick break now, then back to it).

The controls work really nicely. The only two I'm a *little* worried about are the slashing and rolling controls. However, you don't start using them right away, there's a story to watch and it takes a few min to grab the sword. So I've had almost no time with them, and even in what little time I have played I was getting much better. All the other controls I've had to use so far work perfectly.

Overall, the game is fun, has good graphics, is easy to play, and oh yeah, is fun. Did I say that twice?

Take this with a grain of salt, because I'm *barely* into it, but from what I've seen so far it's really fun, and the controls work nicely.

I've gotta say (bearing in mind I haven't played the game yet) - I don't like the look of the graphics. It seems like a huge step back from the Minish Cap. The art in that was spectacular IMO, and whilst I'm also a fan of low-poly 3D art I just don't see it as a veritable Zelda style.

Then again full stylus controls wouldn't have been as fluid if used 2D sprites, unless they drew many angles. I can see why they've done it but I still sob a little :(

JackAxe
Oct 2, 2007, 05:47 PM
But, but, but, but, but, but.., Minish Cap's art direction was "based" on Wind Waker's style, which Z:PH is the "sequel!" And this is Miyamoto's baby. Just look a the spectacular (http://www.thehylia.com/index.php?start_from=&ucat=5&subaction=showfull&id=1182386637&archive=1184511749&) paper-cut-out intro art!

I'm a 2D sprite person also and will always appreciate it more so over 3D, so a portable 3D Zelda has me a bit if, since the Minish Cap translated WW's 3D art to sprite so wonderfully. I think that when you start playing the game, you'll see areas of 3D that work well. I still have fond memories of areas in Wind Waker that looked like they were ripped straight out of Don Bluth cartoon.

Besides the stylus control, which I'm sure I'll get used to, everything here screams Zelda to me. Wind Waker for me was the quintessential Zelda, still my favorite to date, so I have high hopes for this game.

Now I would love a true Paper Zelda, maybe a Paper Metroid RPG whilst they're at it. Love the paper concept :D

I dunno. Maybe in motion it'll win me over. 2D can be so pristine and crisp, detail as it was meant to be seen. 3D (at least low res 3D) doesn't get that across for me. Didn't stop me from enjoying Hunters anyroad

JackAxe
Oct 2, 2007, 07:53 PM
I second that about a paper style. I love that stuff! :D I'm building my new portfolio site in a somewhat similar style. Nintedno has lots of influence on my likes. :)

Screen shots of 3D never seem to do it justice. As an example, Metroid Prime: Corruption looks 5 fold better in play than any screen shot I've seen and even looks awesome on my image bastardizing HD TV LCD

The problem with screenshots on 3D games, even the uber examples of the latest and greatest PC games, is that it's easy to see all of the imperfections and other fake areas that the current GPUs have problems with. Seeing a clean face texture next to a lower-rez texture that's slighly blurred, while everything is the devoid of occlusion always bugs me, and then there's the plastic look that we all love <sarcasm>.

At least with 2D games, a still shot is as the artist had intended down the pixel, not some new angle generated by a GPU. So all shadowing, etc.. are pleasing the eye. Just to state what you already know. :)

Hunters looks awesome on the DS IMO. I know it's low-poly, but everything is so clean and purdy for being pixelated. That game was well executed.

Silly little evilgEEk, that info about Z:ALTP is common knowledge, so you bring nothing new to the plate and shall be punished accordingly. :p :) I owned it on the SNES version but didn't finish it. Later I played it on my Mac during lunch breaks, but didn't finish it. I didn't complete it until after beating Minish Cap. :o This is sad on my part, because I bought it for my GBA when it was released.

This game is great. It reminds me of Animal crossing when moving around. And they've once again visually captured Toungue's emotions -- that's what I always name my character. :)

So raggedjimmi, if you liked Animal Crossing, you'll like this game visually, even though I would say this is a step above so far and of course it's Zelda. :)

Minish Cap was too short. Why can't they make a game that rivals the length of Link's Awakening (my first Zelda experience).

I think he meant "Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening". I have a bad habit of saying "A Link To The Past" when I mean "Link's Awakening" too.

Oh, for the 2D vs 3D thing? I've always loved 2D art, but Wind Waker had such a unique style that I'm willing to forgive the move to 3D. I definitely think this Wind Waker look suits the 2D world better than an Ocarina of Time styled world (not that OoT isn't great for 3D, but for an overhead view...nah).

Wind Waker is one of the most underrated Zelda games. I LOVED the art style.

I finally convinced my friend to play WW, because he wants to play Z:PH. He was one of those, it's too cartoony, so didn't bother playing it. I really didn't understand where he was coming from, since he was a Zelda fan before I. :)

:o

Yeah, it was short, but still enjoyable. I like long games also, but for the price I paid -- I think $30 -- the game was long enough. :)

Even if this one isn't as long as the the great Zelda of the SNES, I'll still be quite happy.

If you want a long game, look into Magical Starsign. If you can get past its girly-cutsey art direction -- which still looks great IMO -- the game is quite enjoyable. It's the best adventure RPG I've played recently on a portable. I played it over a period of 3 months and wanted more when it ended. I really hope they make a sequel.

I've played it a lot more now (this is really going to hurt my grade tomorrow), and the game has just gotten better. If you like Zelda games, especially ones like LTTP, you should definitely pick this one up. The controls are great, as well. Writing on the screen, using the boomerang, etc, all work amazingly. ToysRus had it in. The guy looked at me funny when I handed him the demo box, because he had to put it back.

Playing with a stylus combined with the character interaction makes this game feel like a graphic-action-adventure.

The game made me laugh out loud at a silly cut scene, so I hope it doesn't let up. :)

The controls work great. Intuitive and responsive, so that's cool.

I just picked the game up and it seems pretty good. I'm getting stuck at a few spots but it's not terribly difficult. The controls are responsive although I am getting lot of misread movements. The somersaults are proving difficult to execute smoothly and the slash sword movement doesn't work all the time. But tapping the enemies work great!

The graphics are absolutely amazing and there is some great humor at the beginning (when Linebeck grabs Link...); hopefully they keep it up.

And here's my friend code (fyi: it's found under File Selection->Battle->Friend Roster->My friend code)

This game is getting better and better. Rolling isn't too hard after you've done it enough. I think it's easier to roll when you have the stylus already on the screen to make Link move and then draw the circle. It's harder from a stand still.

I haven't tried the battle mode yet, is it fun? I also hate how people disconnect in online games. What are they, 10? . . . . Probably. I feel old all of a sudden :o

For me me me, the controls were easy to pick up for the most part and besides the roll move, they really didn't need any explanation.

And yes, it looks great! :) The characters are given the tighter textures and have lots of expressive movement. It's easy to see what Tongue (my char name) is thinking, even when tiny. The backgrounds have WW's greatness, just pixelated.

I just completed the first boss in the game and so far the game has been a bit too easy -- Minish Cap easy. I hope that this is only because it's early on, because hearts and rupees are a bit too common. It should take me hours to earn 10 rupees. :)

I beat the first dungeon and am doing a few side quests. It is a little bit on the easy side, but so has every zelda game since ocarina of time (I'm an old school zelda fan). I'm getting a better hang of the controls apart from the rolls. I keep wanting to run into trees but I either a) miss the tree or b) walk right into them. But I've noticed that you can hold on L or R and bring up your secondary weapon. I've come to realize that my L button is a bit on the weak side :-(

I tried out the battle mode, but I had to disconnect because I didn't look at the time and I was late for work. SORRY! So far, it seemed really difficult to draw the lines for the guys. But I had only played for a few seconds.

I just passed the first dungeon. It does seem pretty slow, but it is the beginning, so that is to be expected. I guess my only complaint is that it is really linear with all the tip signs and help from "Navi", there is pretty much no puzzle solving, you are told what to do. I hope this changes as the game progresses, never the less, I will play it fully through, art and sound design is amazing, by far the best looking DS game I have played.

I actually enjoy this game so far. Granted I'm only about 45 minutes it but so far so good. The graphics are a lot better than screenshots make them out. My biggest gripe thus far is my hand gets in the way of the screen when I am running towards the left-hand side since I need to move my hand over the screen to go that way, and doing rolls is a bitch!

But being able to draw on the maps? Best idea e-v-e-r! I'm finding I use it a lot, even just to mark down which house is the store for instance whereas in previous game I tended to forget.

There are some great writing/drawing moments in this game that are quite clever. Like....(potential spoiler alert) drawing the map for an island! That was really cool.

Just my 2 cents:

I think this is a great game, and I really enjoy it.

I play puzzle games (tetris, worms, puzzle quest, etc) about 95% of the time on my DS, but this game is really worthy of my attention and it keeps my interest.

It's well designed (although I agree with somebodies previous concern about the rolling/slashing controls), and very imersive. I find myself actually reading te dialoge bubbles. A really in depth game that I'm please to report has a good many hours of game play. I am probably around half way through the game (based on the fact that 1/2 of 4 sea map spots are cleared), though honestly I don't know.

I think my favorite part of the game is throwing hte boomerang, it's very satisfying :)

Sorry about my terrible spelling!

Raggedjimmi, if you find this one boring, than how did you ever complete any other Zelda? :) It's heavier on the puzzles, so I can see that being a factor?

I know why, you're protesting Nintendos choice of 3D over 2D for a portable. :p :D

-- --

Some of the puzzles in Zelda are reminiscent of another game Nintendo published early on for the DS. I won't say which one, since that might ruin the puzzles for others.

Anyway, the graphic adventure feel and Wind Waker direction of this Zelda has me loving it!

I think it's mostly down to level and area design. The other 2D Zelda games threw you into a messy and full world. The 3D games let you look into the distance of a virtual world. This seems to miss out of both of them so you're running around on a canvas that wasn't filled.

Does it get better? Is the first island and dungeon totally bland and featureless compared to the rest? Say yes and I'll be happy to push through to completion.

You're judging a game on its first simplified-let's-welcome-all-new-users-to-this-game-area. :p EVIL!!! That's a gaming SIN! The game's overtone is Zelda through in and out. The people interaction is better IMO, because of the art direction. I've laugh out loud twice now -- I rarely do this for any game these days, especially not a Zelda! Just play the farging game, it does get better. :)

And to ramble more:
I just finished the 3rd dungeon. This zelda is just as level complex as any other 2D Zelda I've played, but it's still on the easy side. I've died a few times already, so I'm happy, just not on ay boss. -- I only died once in Minish Cap and that was on the very last boss, which was because of a stupid mistake on my part, so I shut off my DS and fought him again to resolve that blemish. :)

I've always been a HUGE graphic adventure fan -- I've played every Lucas Arts GA when I was younger and own them all -- besides the typical Zelda puzzles which this game is saturated with, the newer GA-type-puzzles they introduced were easy only because of my prior experience with that other non-Zelda-Nintendo game I played. But if I hadn't played it, there's one puzzle that would have had me scratching my head for a few.

I LOVE THIS GAME, so my opinions are bias! :o

I just encountered my first bug/mistake in a Nintendo game.

Maybe it's because I'm not on a DS Lite, but I doubt that.

It's below in white:
On the Ghost Ship on floor B3, there are 5 levers that need to be pulled in a specific order. The tablet above states 24513 as being the correct order, the "actual" order is 41523. I was to the point that I started to pull levels in a sequence, then start over so as to eventually cycle through every possibility. I finally looked online today after almost starting over, because I figured Nintendo wouldn't do something that was reminiscent of some of the games I played eons ago. Anyway, I did a search for Zeld(title) + Ghost Ship + 24513 and the first link was related to this. *grumbles* If this wasn't a mistake on Nintendo's part, they were being CRUEL!!!

There are a couple of audio glitches that have also happened, where as my old DS's speaker started screeching a high-pitch-death scream. This occurred when the first blue portal appeared, then later when I was trying to get past the above mentioned area.

Blah. Anyway, I still love this game. I like it better than Zelda TP, but it's tooooo easy. I hope they ramp up the difficulty for the next one. :)

DAMMIT NINTENDO!!! Make a WW type game for the Wii!!!

Just beat the first dungeon. K it got better. I'm still not happy with some of the design but it's enjoyable.

Call for a DS game in the style of Zelda OoT without touchscreen controls (cept for an alternative for aiming maybe).

Why are handheld zelda (Minish cap, this one etc) always so easy?

Never played the Oracle series? :D

I think this is easy so far because of the controls. Maybe they didn't want to overwhelm players with this new control system so early. Assuming it gets harder towards the end of the game that is.

Jimmi, it does get better, though at least by the time you get the Sun key or whatever there aren't levels with tons of enemies everywhere. However, it has one of my favorite little puzzles in it (not really a puzzle, just clever), when you have to *spoiler alert!* press your map onto the seal's map, and in order to press the two maps together you physically close the DS as if you were squeezing them together!

JackAxe
Oct 7, 2007, 12:21 AM
That clever puzzle was borrowed from another Nintendo published game. A graphic adventure to be exact. :)

Am I the only one that encountered the glitch on the 4th dungeon?

EVIL raggedjimmi, still judging a game on its first area. :)

I just encountered my first bug/mistake in a Nintendo game.

De-lurking to talk about a Zelda game... it had to happen eventually.

JackAxe, the problem you mentioned in the spoiler is not actually a bug/mistake. I, too, was very frustrated by it until I realized how clever it was. (And yes, it was a bit cruel.)

I am also glad to hear that I am not the only one having the audio glitch with the old DS. Has anyone else had the problem? Seems to happen to me the most in the Ocean King's Temple, but it doesn't happen at all on the DS Lite.

Oct 8, 2007, 11:33 AM
It's not a bug; you were thinking of it wrong. I got it on my first try, it never occurred to me to do it another way!

The trick is to write "24513" over the switches on the map, then pull the switch with the 1 over it, then the 2, then the 3, then the 4, then the 5. So you start with the 4th switch. Apparently, you thought you had to pull the 2nd, then 4th, then 5th...it's not a bug, it's just looking at the puzzle the wrong way.

I haven't had any audio glitches, but I'm on a Lite.
Also, Jimmi, there's something wrong with you. This is definitely on my all time favorite Zelda game list. The puzzles are so fresh! I think I'm enjoying it better than Twilight Princess.

However, I just met Zauz, and I get the impression that I'm about to be sent on an annoying fetch quest. The story's been very fast paced so far, I'm afraid it's going to grind to a halt (like Twilight Princess did when you found the mirror).

Awesome! I hope for more puzzles that don't click with how I think! :)

Jimmi would be all over this if it were 2D, I have no doubt about it.

The first time the audio glitch happened I ran through the portal to stop its death-squeal, the second time there was no portal, so I closed my DS lid to sleep it and that resolved it.

I like the little arcade sequence for the crane lift, this would have been welcome for Wind Waker, but I miss the environment changes and how WW handled water.

Well, I finally had an opportunity to start Z:PH yesterday. It definitely took a little bit of getting used to. My only complaint is that I like to play my DS as I'm lying in bed at night, and having to use the stylus while holding the DS with my left hand propped up on my chest gets a little cumbersome at times.

Other than that small issue, and the small controls learning curve, I think they did an excellent job with the controls. :)

Writing on the maps is awesome. I keep drawing sharks and whales in the ocean. ;)

Also the way you draw your ship route is pretty fun too.

I'm not very far in to the game at all, but it's definitely been fun so far. And with that said, I'm going to go get in bed and play for another 30 minutes or so.

I've had this game since Monday, and despite the fact that it is quite easy, In my opinion it is the best DS game yet! :D

The only things i don't like are the repeated visits to the Ocean King's Temple and the dredging for treasure, avoiding those annoying aquamarines. Other than that I love it! The controls are great, which is a shock to me as I was prepared to be annoyed by the touch screen.

If any of you are not sure whether to buy it or not, go get it right now!

I started playing and got up to the first temple (fire I think it is), so far I'm loving it, the controls are for the most part well but its kind of annoying when Link attacks instead of moving and doing rolls is practically impossible.

The doodling on map is a pretty nice thing and of course I see lots of potential for the touch screen further down the game.

Graphics are great, music is traditional zelda and its overall a great game, definitely a must-buy.

Wow I just played a bit more and I'm loving this game, sadly it is a bit on the easy side but it is still quite fun to play, navigating can feel like a chore at times but at least you have plenty of things to do while sailing so its not TOO boring and of course you have the frog warp system.

The only thing I'm not digging is having to do the same portions of the Ocean King Temple over again each time I do a temple.

Absolutely brilliant!

Though I will admit that I did have to look up a walkthrough on it because I was at a complete loss, and I would have NEVER thought to do that! I mean, I realized it was an upside down image of the sea chart, but I would have never imagined doing that!

The color saturation level is great when compared to mine. It's night and day. One of the reasons I haven't jumped yet, is that my hands are a bit larger and playing the DS L brought on a bit of cramping. That and I like to use thing till they drop dead.

I'm going to wait a bit longer, but I'm getting antsy about picking one up. If I hadn't figured out how to fix my DS's shoulder button by blowing in it, I would be playing on a black one right now.

Mario Kart is such an awesome game. Months upon months of fun came from that game. C: DoS consumed me for about a months solid. The second C:PoR is also great, but it takes more time to get into, at least for me.

I think so. I really don't have that experience to say for sure, but Nintendo made this game to be playable by a wide range of ages, so as a whole this is probably why it's too easy.

Lets put it this way. If one can read this forum or a similar forum in another language they'd be more than capable of playing the game. There are a few parts where the language could trip you up as they'll make you repeat answers till you choose right...like saying do you want to journey and you need to say yes or do you want to help us until you say ok.

I was also embarrassed about yelling at my DS, but as for returning over and over to the dungeon, I didn't mind it since I was kind of milking this game anyway for all it could offer. I was thinking I might play this one over and over like I did the original Zelda on the NES...but this temple so far has a big no on that for me. But it'll be fun to beat it once.

The puzzles aren't too bad. Hard enough to where you don't just run straight through it, but not too hard you can't fit it into a nice portable gaming break (I game on the sky train in 20 minute bursts).

That stupid temple system. I've actually started playing through Portrait of Ruin again just because I can't bring myself to go through that temple again to get the last map piece. The gameplay actually drove me away from the game.

This was my default time waster while sitting for my sleeve work. Could play one handed with my right arm while my left arm was getting tattood, but don't know if I want to work through that dungeon again today...maybe I'll take Zack and Wiki and my wii up there instead :) It's one handed paradise!

The temple has several shortcuts and it only takes about 5 minutes to get through it. There's also two portals you can open up. You guys are just lazy and have the attention span of a pea. :D :p

I'm almost done with Zak & Wiki that I know of, it's a good game, but I must rant about it. I also started playing Monkey Island again on my DS, which I haven't played for eons and it's a much better game. I hope for more Z&W games, but its puzzle adventure approach really missed the whole point of why Graphic Adventures from Lucas Art's early days were truly great games. I really don't care for the characters and I wouldn't even call its story a story. It has me bouncing from one level/puzzel to the next and wether I play that level today or tomorrow is really of no care. Anyway, regardless, the game is clever and I really hope they bring out more and this trend doesn't stop any time soon. The Paint level is awesome! Its engine needs a bit more refinement on moving IMO, but It would really work well for a Monkey Island 2.5. :) The game's art direction as a whole is something I eat up -- I love painterly backgrounds.

I did beat the temple with a time of around four minutes on the last run through, but I got tons of +30 seconds and spent a lot of time in the safe zones so it was probably more like 20 minutes to make it through :P

I actually have a saved time of 50 seconds to the checkpoint/portal!

The masked beetle boat occasionally sales golden parts. I forget which times he shows up during the day, but it's like noon or something. I've only seen one part and that was early in the game, so I didn't have any money. Anyway, I didn't bother with the golden boat.

I forget which gem is shield and which gem was shooting, but anyways, I got them all. I had to download a walkthrough and then backtrack to figure out where i missed them, so good luck. :D

The gem that shoots at level 2 was great, since it shot a huge arc. The shield was quite useful for the very last battle when I was getting his pattern down. But they were all pretty much useless compared to the hammer for the rest of the game.

2 you CAN trade ship parts with other people

I know you can trade with other people using wi-fi, but can you trade with other people using the same DS?

Thanks!

I'm still in my hunt for all the golden ship parts (only need two more!), so I have yet to finish the game.

So until I do find all the parts I have been going around and playing every game and trying to beat all the high scores.

I'm curious as to what everyone else's high score is on the bow and arrow game. I just barely squeezed out 2000 exactly, but I haven't been able to go above that.

So what are your best scores?

I am always just shy of winning the bow and arrow game, which is frustrating, but I know it can be done.

The cannon game, however is IMPOSSIBLE!!

I beg to differ. :p

I beat the canon game many times getting ship parts, I recall my high score is 2900 -- my friend is still borrowing my cart. Just remember where the targets are and figure out how many times you can shoot each one before you'll need to focus on the next. There's a target on the inside turn which is good for a ton of hits.

I beat the canon game before I beat the bow game, which I think was just the 2000. The easiest game to beat was the rolling game.

I was kinda hoping for a faster cannon :(

Same here. I really wish they had added more RPG elements to the ship, instead of just how you customized it. That ship guy should have offered upgrade services besides just fixing the crane.

Oh no, I think getting my new Macbook has completely made me neglect my DS. I think I am now at that pint where you come back into the game and completely forget what you're supposed to do.

I was eyeing up DS games in HMV the the day, but told myself 'not until you've completed Zelda!' It's like finishing my greens.

I'm the same way as the above poster. Took a while off and now can't remember squat. Looked at an online guide to see where I am and I'm at the very end. Oh well. One day will go back and beat it. For now Portrait of Ruin has drawn me back in for another replay.

You're also slow. :p

I'm on my 4th RWii4 replay. :o I got the Tommy gun and decided just to restart on pro with none of my previously earned weapons, since they really take all of the fun out of the game.

Have you played Contra DS?

The Castlevania DS games look fabulous!

"LOOK!" How could you have not played these games?!!! C: DS came out the very first year of the DS, C:PoR about a year later.

I'm impatiently waiting for a 3rd Castlevania on the DS.

Wow.

Heh. I still haven't finished this game. I used to play it for an hour or so before going to sleep, but I got out of the groove of that and haven't turned it on for a few months.

I need to go back and finish it. :)

I have not played with my DS since December :o
I think of playing Zelda, but have a mental image of me getting stuck somewhere in one of the dungeons. Depressing. Now if only Prof. Layton got a UK release...

I've been on the last pass of that stupid timed dungeon since December. No desire to go back and finish it. HATE, HATE, HATE that stupid dynamic of replaying that damn thing over and over. Only miss in the game for me, everything else (art, story, gameplay) was good... but that repeat dungeon thing completely puts me off the game.

...but that repeat dungeon thing completely puts me off the game.

It was definitely annoying, but there are so many shortcuts that it doesn't take long to get through the old stuff. Still could have done without it though. When the game is no longer fun because of one aspect we obviously have a problem.

I still want to finish the game, but it's been all Smash Bros. lately, and in a few days we'll have Mario Kart! :)

pcypert doesn't no what a shortcut is. :D :p

It only takes a couple of minutes to make it to the bottom, no big deal. ;)

Regardless it's annoying. There's plenty of levels before you work up to some of those. It's even more annoying that some of the parts are "timed" in that you're stuck waiting for players you have no control over slowing you down and keeping you from being able to rush it.

I really want to pick mine up again, but I'm so swamped with work that I'm not getting home until 8pm nearly every night. After some time with the family I'm usually too exhausted to play.

I really need to though because I still haven't finished the game yet!

I DEMAND YOU FINISH THE GAME!!! ... :)

I've been playing Phoenix Wright lately, finally finishing up the last two chapters, then I'll start on the second one -- which I bought new for $12 earlier this year.

Is anyone else still playing this game?

I finally gave up on getting all of the golden ship parts. I think I'm going to pick it back up and finally finish the game.

I can't remember where I read this, but I came across an article a couple of months ago that mentioned Nintendo was already working on a sequel to Phantom Hourglass.

I'm all for another PH style Zelda, but please don't make us go through the same temple every time again. It's not difficult; just boring.

I occasionally try playing online. I really do like the multiplayer aspect to the game, it's just that ~29/30 times, if you're winning after a couple rounds the other person drops out.

Well, I had no idea how near the finish I was all along. Bah. That's that over.

Final Fantasy A2 Tactics, or whatever it's called, next.

I never tried the online battle because of that reason. Every online game is the same in that respect.

I don't even bother anymore unless I'm playing the game with a friend.

Which sucks, because there is such potential for so many games! Too bad most people out there are complete dicks.

EDIT: btw, great avatar.

Exactly. It ruined Warcraft for me completely. I was a huge fan back in the day, but I only play single player campaigns on War3 because I refuse to play World of Warcraft. Why would I pay a monthly fee to subject myself to so many morons?

EDIT: btw, great avatar.

Thanks! :D

I haven't played this game for some time. I loaned it to my friend. :( But at least I beat it. :p

I still play WC3 mods every other week, but only with friends. We stopped doing Battle Net public games, because of the freaking 13 year old foul mouthed jackasses.
