Newsreader troubles in OS X

I am unable to connect to my usenet server (news.east.cox.net) from my new powerbook. I just get a 502 - permission denied.

I do know my username/password - I'm able to connect from my PC.

Does anyone have any ideas? I have tried Thoth, MacSoup, MT-NW and one other newsreader, all with the same results.

I did figure this one out. My Airport was connecting to a neighbors.
