After letting my touch get a full charge last night I unplugged it and locked it. I was told leaving it locked saved battery life since the initial power up was not needed.

Well I go to turn my touch on in Class this morning and it tells me it has not battery! What happened! I didnt leave wi-fi on or anything it was just locked with the screen off.

Can someone please tell me what could have happened and what could prevent this. I really dont want to return my new touch for a another one because of battery problems =(

Locking it means it is still running... so of course its going to use battery life!

There is no problem with your unit.

Was it plugged into a computer that went in sleep mode or got turned off? because the ipod will drain battery if this happens. You'll never have this problem with a wall charger.

This happened to me the other day as I left the touch in sleep mode and came back the next day with the battery totally drained, but my fault as I left the wifi on. I leave it in sleep all night sometimes and now come back the next day basically where the battery left off the previous day, but unplugged of course.
