Well all this talk of future mice and some general discussion about scroll wheel speed in Navigator .2 got me wondering what mice people are using. So I present you a poll:
My Mouse ...
1) is an apple mouse or trackpad
2) is a non-apple mouse
3) is a trackball
4) is a tablet
5) is a touch screen
6) has a scroll wheel
7) has more than two buttons
8) has two buttons
9) is optical
10) is wireless
So check all the boxes that apply to your setup, and fill and let us know how it works for you.

My mouse is a Mouse-in-a-Box. It has two buttons, a scroll wheel, and you can click down on the scroll wheel for a third button. Like I said in previous multi-button mice threads, I used to be a loyal one-button Mac user. But those days are over. Ever since contextual menus really started living up to their name, I've found the "right mouse click" to be invaluable. And the scroll wheel for web pages is fantastic. Not to mention you can customize the buttons to do whatever you want them to do. Now THAT is functionality!

9x 12 Intous2 Tablet. Possibly the best input device ever made, comes with a 4 button mouse w/ scroll wheel and a pen. If you've never done photoshop or illustrator with a pen and tablet, you're definitely missing out!

Logitech cordless optical. The best damn mouse ever. THe only downside is that it sucks battery life. just buy recharables and you are fine.

MS mice currently...gotta love optical, no more cleaning mice balls (and no, that's not a dirty thing to say).
I'm really interested in getting a tablet for my PS work. I hear great reviews all the time...maybe I'll take the plunge when I get a PowerMac.

Logietch Mouseman Optical...
I'll never use a corded mouse again. Mice are going the way of the remote control.

Same what I have. And yes, the battery life does suck. I think apple should make some kind of wireless mouse/keyboard that recharges!

I have the graphite 2 that I use with my cordless optical. it is a nice combo. When my the batteries run out and I need to recharge them I simply use the mouse with the tablet. Otherwise I use the tablet for the pen. I would like to get a bigger one, but I don't want to spend a lot of $$$.

If you do get scared, though, you're probably one of the first people ever to be scared by a 50x50 picture of a smoking prawn! :D

It's the only mouse for me... Never have used that 3rd "thumb" button, though.
As for battery life... Well, I bought a big pack of Alkaline AAs. Seems to go about a month before needing a new set. Not bad considering it's in use 10+ hours a day.
And... that light "never" seems to turn completely off. Even when it's sitting there doing nothing for hours.

A MS intelli mouse 2 buttons, scroll wheel, and its optical. I keep my pro mouse as a backup(If my mom takes the other mouse when she doesn't want me to play on the computer) I love opticals, I don't know how i lived without them.

I've waved a smoking prawn at some friends (right after I took it off the grill), that works too!
Nice avatar Beej, I'd been waiting to see what you'd come up with.

At first I thought it was a Bananna Slug with a Spleef and maybe you were a UCSC kid trying to mess with Jef and I.:p
It didn't register as a prawn cuz most of it's antennae aren't in frame.

I use that third thumb button all of the time! I use it as back on the internet. It is as valuable as the scroll wheel.

i just cant live with out the second button and the scroll weel. I feel bad that Im not using it. If the rumors are true that Apple might ship a new mouse... I would run out and grab it if it had a 2nd button and a weel. I can reitre my macally iSweetnet. The beta drivers for it that came out a few weeks ago didnt work anyway.
