Mail App not auto-checking for mail every 15 minutes

I have an iPhone 8GB running firmware 1.0.2. I have set it to auto check for new mail every 15 minutes but I find that throughout the day I have to manually open the app to make it check for mail and I end up receiving mail that can be hours old. It seems my iPhone only sometimes checks for mail, not every 15 minutes like I set it to. I have restored my iPhone and have done a full reset of the phone and it has made no difference. Is anyone else having the same problem and is there any way to fix it?

It may check every 15 minutes but maybe it can't connect to Edge or wi-fi? Just a thought. I have mine check every hour and it seems sporadic.

My AOL email actually checks every 5 minutes even though its setup for every 15 minutes. Does anyone else have this happen to them?

Yup. Same here but it started when I got 1.1.1.

mine does it too, since I got it on launch day, and even now at 1.1.1. Havent a clue why. Maybe mail crashes in the background, and doesnt relaunch until its manually reopened?

Ocassionaly, this happened to me in 1.0.2.

restarting the iphone worked for me.

And today I found out that the public library I dropped by, the iphone would not get my email over their wifi. I could safari though.

To get my email I had to turn off wifi,
drop to edge.
get my mail.

Yahoo doesn't have an auto check feature because its push all other accounts do so that why you don't see that option. Just to bad push doesn't really work :mad:

I just posted in another thread about this issue. I've had this problem from the beginning. In fact, I signed up for Yahoo to get the push feature. After the initial setup, of Gmail and Yahoo, they just take forever to check. And I have to check it manually too.
