Is it possible to still use itunes 6 with the 80 gig ipod 5.5 gen? If so is there anything special that needs to be done to get it to work. I am looking into buying an ipod 80 gig but both of my children have ipod nano 2nd gen and since everything is working great I do not want to upgrade to itunes version 7 for two reasons. one being the change in the library file and the way it rstructures everyting from what I have read and second is I have read several bad things about itunes 7 and people wanting to go back to itune 6 after they upgraded and what a nightmare it was.:)

Most of the bugs of iTunes 7 have been eradicated by now. I've had no issues, personally. :)

Having said that, I think you may be able to use iTunes 6, since iTunes 7 was technically released slightly after the revised 5G iPod.
