G5 in Nottingham, England :)

Hello there,

Got to use a 1.6 256mb demo G5 in the KRCS Apple Centre, Broadmarsh, Nottingham today. The guy was literally just unpacking it as I was walking by the store :). I stood around for a few minutes. It was a lot quicker than my PB 667 ;) and whisper quiet -- the fans were spinning extremely slowly inside!

So if you're around Nottingham (or any KRCS Apple Centre in the UK ought to have them in real soon now) ... you can have a play :).

As for ordering, KRCS have a huge backlog and won't have any for sale in store any time in the next few weeks.

Well .. that's all. Looking forward to seeing a 2Ghz G5.

Oh .. one more thing :)

I commented that they ship with the slightly redesigned keyboard and mouse and the guy in the store pointed me at the keyboard preferences panel in the 10.2.7 build on the machine (6S77 or something) which had a bluetooth tab :) and from that we guess the bluetooth mouse and keyboard can't be far away!

Awesome! That's my nearest Apple shop and I bought my current iMac from them a few years back. I'm going to Nottingham shopping on Saturday so i'll have to remember to drop by. The friend i'm going with will think i'm nuts. ;)

What excuse shall I use to get away and drool over this G5?
A) "Just popping to the loo for abit..."
B) "oh wow look over there, it's a flying donkey!..." [runs]
C) "A geeks gotta do what a geeks gotta do"
