So my iBook G4 just died on me. Looking to replace as soon as I can. Sounds like the logic board, so frustrating. Anyways, looking to drop $650 at the very max. I have a perfectly legit powermac G5 sitting at home and just need this computer while I'm at the girlfriends or on the road. Do not want another iBook and miss my old powerbook.

So please, I know there are a few people floating around in MR land with aluminum laptops just wasting space, heh. Please post or PM with any offers and we can go from there. Including refs/ebay names or anything else would be great. Also, if you're interested in any type of trades, I do have a few things kickin' around worth something. (wii, dslite)

thank you kindly, my zip is 98338 if it matters...

Well, I have an original-release 867 MHz 12" PowerBook G4 that is just kind of 'spare'. 640 MB RAM, 40 GB hard drive, Combo Drive, AirPort Extreme card. Best price on a used store (http://www.lowendmac.com/deals/pbg4-12.html) is $589, and that only has 256 MB RAM. Average price on eBay recently is about $400. (Seems to vary wildly, ones with full packaging seem to be around $500.)

I have all original packaging, discs, and manuals. If you're planning on getting Leopard when it comes out, I'd just throw on the original 10.2, otherwise, I could include legal copies of Tiger, iLife '06, and iWork '05 if you want. (Yes, original discs would be included.) Hell, I'd even be willing to throw in Office v.X Student & Teacher Edition.

If you want just the computer without the software upgrades, I'd be willing to entertain $450, and I'd throw in all the above-mentioned software for an extra $100. I do collect antique computers, so if you have anything interesting, I'd be happy to consider barter, too.

Caveat: This PowerBook did get dropped once (during an interrupted robbery of my car,) and has a couple dents on the case, but it has worked perfectly even since then. If you're worried about the hard drive, I have a spare (happens to be the exact same model as in the PowerBook, even,) that I'd be willing to swap for you, or include for you to swap for an extra $20. (It's also a 40 GB drive. So for $20, you'd get the original still in the PowerBook, plus a second of the same make and model.)
