I'm in CompUSA right now. I just downloaded and ran xbench. Results are below.
edit: guys, I just realized that I opened several applications (to see if they loaded noticeably faster) soon before I thought of running the benchmark. I quit them before running it, though. The results are noticeably lower than those on XBench's site, could mem management be the issue? Obviously, the OS takes care of memory allocation for you, but I've always wondered if the same problem that we had before X exists in X. That is, that memory takes a while to come back into effect after it has been used by an application...Stupid question, I should know the answer, but I wasn't sure whether it was still the case...Could someone enlighten me? That's the only reason I can imagine that the results are significanty (10-15%) lower than other machines' tested with XBench...Although, this could also be from the inexplicably low CPU test score, which shouldn't be affected by memory. Is it just XBench?
