Apple may consider dropping the iPod's price soonish, but then again the iPhone thing was a fiasco...

I'm looking the facts not an article by Engadget.

lol, fact is M$ has no flash PMP on the market now...

and fact is its a resurge compare to... say, 3 days ago?

Whoops! Zune is still the number 1 hard disk based Windows-only MP3 player made by Microsoft. Down the brown!
there is a resurge, isn't there?

No. To resurge you would have had to surge in the first place.

It is now a better player than it was 3 days ago, however. Cheaper and with the promise of more features.

Yeah, a million in eighty days... I'm betting somebody got fired.

Note that the article refers to sales on Amazon. Hmmm... are there other places that sell iPods that would explain the real-world 8 ipods to 1 of everything else ratio? 🙂

indeed, I don't know if amazon topseller list is really such a big deal?

but again, check #3, I guess you gotta pick and choose sometimes.

This is merely a news, and I think is a good thing so apple can learn something.
namely, lower price, and back port features.

Look closer guys. The iPod classic isn't even on the list. Apparently it's not considered a "Hard-drive based" mp3 player. So basically the only thing competing with the Zune is the old iPod 5.5G, which isn't even being made anymore. 🙄

From the source ZuneRama -
"*Edit - the Amazon list is, for mysterious reasons, not including Apple's newer hard drive models. Thanks to all who advised me about that. Arrgh!"

I've heard the stats are "hard-drive based WINDOWS mp3 players". The iPod is a "hard-drive based WINDOWS AND MAC mp3 player".

Spin - round and round we go...

I can sort of see it, though. $199 buys you an 8Gid iPod, or a 30Gig Zune. The next is a $249 80Gig Zune 2 or iPod Classic...

Apple, for some reason, likes "gaps" in its product lineup (like the gap in desktops between the Mini and the MacPro - don't say "iMac" - that's an all-in-one..)

Woohoo! The #1 30-gig, hard-drive based music player made by companies starting with the letters B-Z that are available in at least three colors, including brown!

What an honour! 🙄

Except that the old iPod is on the list.😛
