iPod touch Any official announcement from Apple regarding iPod Touch scren issues?

Was curious if Apple had officially made any kind of statement regarding the iPod Touch screen issues, I haven't been following this too much after spending everyday for a few weeks reading forums looking for hope. 🙂 I had a week 38 that had a bad screen so I took it back to BB and got myself a Tivo Series 3. 🙂

So far it seems as if no official word, but it is a problem they are recognizing.

Yes. They updated the firmware to 1.1.1 and that solved the problem, except for diehards who seem hellbent to see a bad picture no matter what.

walt mossberg said in his review that apple were doing their best to fix it. but nothing official, no.

I hear what you are saying, but a software fix isn't going to solve a hardware issue. I did a side by side comparison of my week 38 iPod Touch with the 1.1.1 update to my boss's iPhone and the difference was like night and day. The iPhone has a far superior screen.
