I'm trying to extract sound from an AVI movie. Is there a way to do this?
I tried opening it in SoundEdit, but it does not work. Are there any programs for this?

Try Audio Hijack (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16382). Records the output of any program to AIFF, so just play the movie, capture the audio, then convert from AIFF to whatever you like :)

Another possibility: Try DivxDoctor II to convert it to Quicktime format and export the audio track with Quicktime Pro... that is, if you find that way useful... ripping would be easier, I guess.
