G5 1.8 ship date just changed

I ordered a G5 1.8 from apple.com on 6-23 (the day of the keynote) at 5:55 PM PST. The ship date was reading "on or before 8-29" until a few hours ago. My order status now reads "On or before 09/26/2003". Hope it comes soon. It will be worth the wait. I settled for the 1.8 because besides the tiny bit of photoshop I do I wouldn't need a dual, I think. Will the dual burn a dvd much faster than a single processor? That's one thing I wasn't sure about. Dick

No, of course not. A 4x DVD burner will burn a DVD at 4x speed, single or dual proc.

But if you use iDVD to burn a project, the MPEG2 encoding will happen faster.
