Can't get 1080p on Samsung HDTV (LE40M86)

Recently got a new mini to go with my Samsung Full HD HDTV, model LE40M86DB (http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Samsung-LE40M86BD/).

Connected via an Xtreme Mac HDMI-DVI cable (http://www.xtrememac.com/audio/av_cables/dvi/). However the max. resolution I can set is 1080i, or 1600x900.

Tried resetting the NVRAM, played with switchresX etc, but I can't get the mini to output 1080p.

This is really annoying, anyone had this problem before?

Your mac mini might not be able to put out 1080p. Remember, it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, it has the intel GMA960 integrated graphics.

Also remember that it uses part of your system ram as video ram. So, how much ram do you have? You may need to get more ram.

Thanks for the links qom, sounds like my issue, but it didn't resolve it!

As for specs, it is the latest C2D mac mini with the default 1GB ram.

Any modern computer not capable of 1080p is a piece of junk.

Now, before someone replies saying 'but...NAC! The 20in ch iMAC iss NOt capable ofo 1080P!' you are wrong. The screen in the 20 inch iMac is not capable of 1080p, but the computer is capable of it if you use an external monitor.
