Macbook - Popping sound coming from external speakers..

So I just bought a brand new Macbook and I have a slight issue.

When I connect my external speakers, every time a new sound is played I hear a slight popping noise right before the sound.

Anyone know what the problem is?

P.S this happens both in OSX and in Vista (via boot camp)

What brand of external speakers do you have? Have you tried using a different cable, or a different sound source? 🙂
