Just got the 16gig IPT - and think it's a great piece of kit - but one or two questions.

In the box was a cheap looking white plastic thing, which I'm trying to make sense of as some sort of dock - how does it work/go together.

I find the volume a tad on the quiet side - anyway of upping it above the indicated max?

Any way to link it to my computer via wireless ( much as you do your phone via bluetooth )

I'd ( along with everyone I guess ) would love some more apps - are there any out there? emailer, text editor, simple picture enhancer etc spring to mind.

cheers all:D

THe white plastic object is the dock adapter.
It is supposed to be placed in a dock, such as an iHome, so the iPod Touch will fit perfectly.

No way to up max volume presently, unlike the other iPods. May come in the future. As a fix for now: New headphones?

No hacking has been accomplished on the iPod touch...
Web-based apps are the best youre going to get right now.

Up the volume... are you kidding me. You people!

I was on the bus yesterday and I had my music at a reasonable level. Guy sits down next to me and I could hear his music better than my own. How is that pleasurable?

some people have been playing their iPods at max for the last 5 years and now have the hearing capability of an eighty year old

once again proving Darwin was wrong

None at the moment - how far back can I go in terms of iPod models and still get a suitable dock? - I could get one off Ebay:)
