No doubt this has been covered extensively in this forum but I'm new to audio recording!
I'm going to be doing a few one-on-one interviews for magazines and stuff, and I thought I'd use WireTap Pro and record directly onto my 12" PowerBook (nice and portable).
I'm assuming that a separate mic is going to be better than the built-in mic, but all I need to do is get a good enough recording that I can make a transcript afterwards. The recording isn't for broadcasting or use in anything, and the only person that will hear it is me.
So if I go for a cheap and cheerful separate mic, what should I get? The PowerBook has audio in next to the headphone socket. I do have a Griffin iMic which I think acts as a pre-amp (if I need a pre-amp)?
Any suggestions welcome. I'm looking for cheap, so up to £20 UK/$50 US would do me.
