Lost all songs last night

Last night i was putting on a video on my ipod first one so far. And i disconnected and everything correctly. Then i went to my room to play it on my stero and the next thing i know none of the songs are even working. And now i cant get any of my purchased songs back either. Anyone know what is wrong. I am now missing 250 songs i reloaded all my songs back onto my ipod from my computer but dont have a lot of the purcahses.

restore, re-transfer
always keep a copy of music on pour computer. iPT will not re-verse transfer music to computer, and it has no HDD mode. plus, its so far appears not to be impressively stable.
