I would like to know, after almost a year, who is going to renew their .Mac account and who is going to just cancel it. If anyone has any thoughts about the issue. For me personally, I guess I'm going to let it expire becuase I already have The Sims for Mac (lol) and only seem to use it for my email.

Renew.
First of all: I love having <my_name>@mac.com for my email address.
Second; I use the "my-homepage"
Third: I use iChat AV
Fourth: I use iSync
Fifth: I like supprting Apple. ;)

How do you use iChat AV in conjunction with .mac? The only thing I can think of is using a .mac screen name, but you could get one from AIM for free. Is there anything else?
P.S. i am renewing too! iDisk!

Yeah, you're right. You can use AIM the same way.
But it's so simple with .mac. Fill in your .mac memebership name when completing installing the OS, and everything is done for you.
I forgot:
Sixth: iDisk (tnx, Freg3000! How could I forget)
Seventh: Backup.app... so handy.

instead of getting .mac for $99 a year, i decided to get webserver hosting from alterahosting.com at $50 a year. sure, i don't get the auto-sync and all that, but i do get <any-name>@monkey-business.biz (and an unlimited amount of email names). i have my AIM screen name already, so i don't need a .mac name. i don't need the "my-homepage" feature, as i already am writing a php + mysql web site by hand. i don't need to back anything up to a server, as i have a back-up hard drive in my computer that i use Carbon Copy Cloner for.
.mac is a great service for those who like to keep things simple and easy. i guess it's just not for me :D

I'm renewing. Mainly for the email and the iSync features. Keeps my powerbook and my PowerMac on the same level.

'Lastday' is up for me in about a month.
I won't renew. It was a good deal @ $49/yr. but I now have my own .com domain & email addy' for around $100/yr.
I'm a runner. ;)

Duff-Man says...I will renew. iSync has become almost indispensable now, and I believe .mac will only get better and better.....oh yeah!
