Hiya--ok, here's the skinny. I'm combining two older albums for one of our artists. I've got the track lengths and playlists sorted in Jam, but now I'm wondering if the audio rips could be better. Unfortunately, I don't have studio speakers to compare them to the originals, so I can't tell straight out, but I want he cleanest rip possible, as I know that applications tend to vary a bit in quality. Here are the apps available to me to use:

itunes
toast
Jam
Cubase VST 5.1 (OS9)
Cubase SE 2.0
Quicktime Pro

I'm doing non-compressed straight .aiff files. Opinions?

Assuming that your source material is also PCM (see below for my question relating to that), it shouldn't make any difference whatsoever. AIFF is not a compression schema. If the source is Linear PCM CD audio, and the output is AIFF, then you're just copying bit for bit.

Jam should be just fine... but just out of curiosity, can you elaborate on what format the source material is in?
