fans dying?

hi all,

my mbp has started making weird whirring noises recently, especially when i'm using windows via bootcamp. i checked their operating speeds and noticed that neither one operates above 300rpm, even if forced, so i suppose the fans need to be replaced. how much does it cost if i send my laptop to applecare (no warranty anymore)? if it's more than 400€, i suppose i'll just buy a new mbp (coz this one is 1st gen).

No idea about your fans.
As far as fixing it, you could probably try to get Apple Care.
Yeah I understand you are no longer covered, and I'm not saying it would work, I'm just saying a good try could make wonders.
And that would be cheaper than outrageous 400eur, if you are right about fixing estimate.
