Actual guide to put applications on

I have installer on.

Is there a guide somewhere to how to put iphone applications on? step by step?

I see a lot of posts about some steps but nothing in order. Also where can be the latest applications downloaded?

I'm on the same page as you man.

It says to copy them into /Applications/ using SFTP. Okay, but what the hell is that? And than, it says to use the command "chmod -R a+x /Applications/*" in SSH. Well I copied some apps into my jailbreak folder and ran the SSH and attempted the command but nothing seemed to happen even after I restarted my iPod.
