iPod Touch Calendar/To Do Functionality

Hey iPod Touch owners, I have a question for ya's.

I would like to buy one but I need to know something first. Whenever an event or to do is due, how does the touch inform the user?


Does it make a sound, if so is it loud or can it be changed?
Can you reschedule events or to do's on the road with the touch?
Can you set the interval reminder time?
Can you set a front-end password to access the device?
Can you prioritise the to do's in the list?


If someone who has a touch could answer these, I'd be eternally grateful!

Yes, the Calendar has "Alerts", but all Alert sounds are very poor and not loud.

Can you reschedule events or to do's on the road with the touch?

The touch only syncs with your computer's default calendar and entries cannot be changed at all unless you jailbreak your touch.

Can you set the interval reminder time?

You can set the Alert to activate at a particular time on or before an event when adding a new entry, but this can only be done directly on the touch if it is jailbroken. There is no option for repeat alerts beyond the first.

Can you set a front-end password to access the device?

You can set a "Passcode Lock" to require a password after a set number of idle minutes. It does not seem particularly secure (after all, it's an iPod, not a phone or PDA), and probably cannot withstand restoring.

Can you prioritise the to do's in the list?

There is no native ToDo List, but the 3rd party app available after jailbreak allows prioritization.

My current iPod classic has a to do list. Maybe I'm better off sticking with this? Not really seeing much of a benefit to upgrade to the touch.

Off topic but does anyone know how the iPhone copes with reminders for event's and to do's etc?
