Built in Ethernet or Wireless?

Can anyone tell me how to confirm if I'm using my built in ethernet (cable modem) or a wireless connection? I just spent a few days in a hotel with my new IMac and I was making use of their wireless connection.

If you're online without the ethernet cable plugged in, you're probably using wireless.

If the cable is plugged in and there is wireless signal too,, and you don't know what you're using, got to network preferences and look at the network status, then the port configurations. you'll see what I mean
