View Full Version : How can I 'see' my iPodTouch on my Mac??

Hi,
New to iPods - so still finding my way.

I'd like to be able to plug in my IPT, and see it as I would a hard disk, thereby being able to add/remove files.

On a related side, I can see it on iTunes, but all the songs are greyed out, so again I can't manipulate them. HOW do you delete, rename etc. songs or files?

You can't. They disabled Disk Mode for all iPod touches.

If you jailbroke yours, you can use SCP or SFTP to store stuff in /private/. Just make a folder, something like /private/my_data/ and anything in there will go on the 8 or 16gb drive.

Just trying to figure jailbreak now - but having probs - is there and dummy GUI method to jailbreak - I'm not too terminal savvy:o

ps - whats SCP & SFTP ( and SSH for that matter )?

For Windows there is... not sure about Mac. Search the forums.
