iPod touch Question: song shuffle resets after powering off? Why?

Why does the "shuffle song" option "reset" after you power off and then power on the touch? Am i missing something?

My old nano would remember the shuffle order after a power shutdown. You could turn it back on and start the song-shuffle right where it left off.

With the touch, though, the shuffle order is lost after a power-down. That blows!!!!!!!!

Can anyone help???? Any ideas?
