i'm looking for a myspace-like profile database that allows users to upload pictures and what not...

maybe a plugin for joomla.. or something. i'm not even sure what to search for since i'm not 100% on the terminology.

i'd rather do this myself than pay someone countless thousands to program it for me.

the point of this is to create a database of businesses... related to specific tags/zip codes and other amazing things.

i don't know enough about mysql to create something on my own.

i do, on the other hand, know how to modify certain things in order to get them to work...

This might sound silly...

You should use Wordpress. I know that sounds really ridiculous... but I know you could make it work. Wordpress has the infostructure pre-built for a subscriber database... and you could make it so that anyone could post pictures... then alter the template so that it didnt look so much like a blog, but a roll for pictures and text.

Then, all you would need to do is make the home page a search box to search through the entires and pictures....

Its crazy, I know. But it just might work... and it will do all the MySQL work for you..
