Can't get POP account working in Mail

Hi... I type in all my POP details in the mail app (Exactly as they are on my OS 10.5 Mail app) .... I then click on the save button.... It thinks for a little while... Then a warning pops up saying "Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?.... Yes/No"

So I click on yes - and it just keeps on rotating the 'activity' wheel not doing anything!

how Do i get around this :(

you probably have yahoo, yahoo pop isnt free

I don't. I have an account on a paid-for ISP.

Mine didn't work either. I have an unused Gmail account and my ISP email let me forward all the emails to the gmail address. The gmail address works so now it's just like getting the emails form my isp account.
