View Full Version : Jobs Screwed Me - A Call To Arms

I've just found out that a friend of mine has bought a new iPod Nano for £129 ... 8Gb, video playback, coverflow built into the interface.

I paid £129 for my 1st Gen 2Gb black Nano, so I'll say it again: Jobs screwed me.

Where did it say in any of the literature that accompanied my purchase, or at the point of sale, or on the internet, that if I held off on buying for a little over two years then I'd get 4x the storage and a whole bunch of bells and whistles at no extra cost?

I'll tell you where ... fudging nowhere.

I'm mad as hell about this, and I'm appealing to 1G Nano everywhere to start petitioning Apple to do right by us. We should all get at least a free upgrade to the new Nano. And maybe some credit at the iTunes store. And Steve needs to come round and mow my lawn for the next few weekends.

C'mon, guys - it worked for all those iPhone whingers ... it might just work for us.

Cheers!

Jim

my god, you are right! I payed $800 AUD 6 years ago for a 5GB iPod, and now they have iPods with 16 times the capacity, twice the battery life, a colour screen with video playback and downloadable games! All of this in a package half as thin, and for a whopping $450 less!

Nowhere did it state that if I waited 6 years I could have gotten so much more! Damn, I'm pissed!

I hope Apple get sued back to the stone age for this outrage!

(Isn't this the standard response in any iPhone thread at the moment, may as well be for iPods too :) )

At least you got laid for your £129, you should be quite satisfied that a CEO would prostitute himself like that.

i think there is something much larger going on here. now that i think of it, almost every company is doing something like this...

A CALL TO ARMS INDEED!

Its Called technology moving on, I mean would you be angry if you brought a car and then 2 years later they redesigned the model and added a few bells and whistles? No. Would I be pissed if in two years they relased a new iPod touch with 200gb storage and a 3d screen, Hell no, becuse I brought what I brought at the time.

Gosh, you try a little light humour to brighten an otherwise dull Tuesday morning ...

I had hoped that the demand for Steve Jobs to mow my lawn might have tipped people off to my intentions. Clearly, I wasn't allowing for the distorting effect of humour when transmitted via the tubes of teh interweb.

Sorry for any confusion. We return you to your normally scheduled programming.

Cheers

Jim

I heard Steve Jobs regularly visits factories in China to point and laugh at the 5 year old children who are making his wares.

I paid over $400 for four one meg ram chips installed in my Mac Plus back in 1988. Given the price of a one gig chip today I figure that Apple owes me ~$20,000 bucks.

With research, you can determine the best time to buy if price is a huge issue.

I paid £89 for Tiger a couple of years ago.

Now, they have announced Leopard and it's only £85.

How dare they

I'm really getting tired of these threads. If everyone is going to get mad when something new comes out at the same price you bought *your* model at months ago, then stop buying stuff.

The rest of us, on the other hand, are quite happy that Apple is continuing to release better products at the same price of older versions. How would we all like it if every new generation of iPod cost an additional $20?
