I can't beleive you posted this. I was just joking on the design help thread.:D:D:D

But here's one:

If an iMac reboots in the forest and no one is around, does it make a sound?

Three words: Apple Remote Desktop :)

or a power outage...

as for the main thread:
my philosophy is probably best summed up as, don't argue with zealots, you can't win. so now i just ignore 'em :)

If a PC crashes in the forest and no one is around, does anyone care?

:D This is a good one, macstudent! :D

how about this:

It's not just a computer, it's a way of life!;)

And if you did not know what computer I'm talking about, I was reffering to the Mac of course!

It' like a drug, once you get used to them you can't live without them:D :D :D ... must keep it under ahhh can't hhhhold, must
:p get a grip:p GET A GRIP!

OK, they stopped calling me for a minute;) nooo, I cannot stop it they are out :p of control aaaahhhh.:p :p

OK now serious
Let's see, can I dig up another philosophy theory?
Ok, here's one:
Mac's are like an Apple (?!?), the first bite you take you like the taste and you eagerly want more!
That is when you truly decide
never to eat another fruit in your life.

How about that?

is this the thread where i'm supposed to post an intelligent and witty one-liner? sorry, i don't have anything like that, but here's one of my favourite jokes:
a guy goes to the doctor. the doctor says that he's got some bad news. he tells the guy that he's dying.
Guy: well how long have i got?
Doc: 10
Guy: 10 what? 10 years, 10 months, what??
Doc:10, 9, 8, 7, 6....
he he! i crack me up!!!:D :D
i hope you all got that one. this isn't the same as telling it in person. :D

a joke or 2 a day keeps the doctor away.

So here goes:
A guy that is really familiar with the life at night and annex escapades wakes up.
stands in front of the mirror telling himself how goodlooking he is, when he suddenly notices that one of his balls is blue.
In panic he runs to the clinic showing his piece to the doctor.
The doctor states that he's never seen anything like it and as a precaution suggests to remove the infected part.
The guy OK's, and it's done.
Returning to his normal life he decides to be more careful.
The next morning he wakes up, stands in front of the mirror and notices the same problem with the other ball.
same routine, to the doctor, etc.
This time the guy decides to be extra careful, even watching his back from time to time.
But when he wakes up the next morning he sees that also his piece is infected.
now he's really scared not wanting to loose his beloved part of his body.
When he arrives at the doctor he tells the doctor if there is not some experimental way to cure this.

The doctor tells him: "mister, we found out what you were suffering from, you're not dying, your Jeans color comes off!"

What is the moral of this story:

Right, stay with your Mac the only thing you can rely on in life!

Very nice. I need to something a little more artistic. I'm happy you liked my avatar, but its only temporary. Well, until I get another made. I want to see if the whole animation concept would look ok. I'd rather not advertise 'dukestreet', so I'll do something a little different next time.

hey thats cool man. i wish i had 3d skills to do that also. i dont own any 3d software. i figure im more of a 2d designer... i have always been a bit more intersed in that.. the minimalism of it.

i wouldnt mine learing 3d though....it would broaden my design knowledge and thats always good. however it would take me a long time to become marketable in it because the learining curve is so frekin high.

don't let it intimidate you. start playing with it and see where it takes you. There are a few free 3d packages out there, try one of those, but hey, Apple might close that deal with a 3D company and we'll all have i3D:D

If you paint and do art, you have a better understanding of composition, spacial relationships and color theory. Think of 3D as a tool, a canvas, and don't worry about specializing in it right now, just have it as one of the many things you can do. Have fun.

my first wife who studied art in college thought commercial artists were second class fine artists

my second wife also studied art and thought that commercial artists were simly using another medium and its those views that finally made me realize tha a commercial artist is not a failed fine artist

disney is really art the same way jackson pollock and basquiat are
