Title sort of says it all. If I pick up a Macbook Pro with Leopard on it, will I be able to install the copy of Leopard that comes with my new laptop on my older macs, assuming they meet the system req's?
sorry to hijack a little - what about: I'm buying a new iMac and want Leopard for my current Powerbook too - can I somehow split the difference on the Family Pack? If so, how?
Only on machines with the same Model Identifier (look in About this Mac/More Info/Hardware Overview), in the past the machines were typically keyed this way -- because as each machine changes the HW enough to require an updated OS, the restore DVDs get keyed to that specific machine.
