Is there any kind of active user's group in the area?

Someone in the TeamMacOSX forums was seeking one.

(Google turns up some stuff west of the city it seems--anything east?)

I can try to be there around 4:30. I'll probably be with my dad and bring my Macbook. If not, I'll be there around 6-7.

I just heard the first 500 people at each store get a free t-shirt. Since my best Sunday shirt just got a big cigarette burn hole in it, I think I'm gonna be there.

I've got some bad news for all that are planning to attend... check the weather forecast. Looks like we'll all be waiting in line in the rain. :(

Hasn't Apple handed out umbrellas at some past events like the iPhone launch?

Not that you shouldn't bring your own :)

Thanks, I'll pass that on, and keep it mind myself if I find myself in that area.

Microcenter is going to have the single user pack for $89.99 and the family pack for $159.99 after rebates. It was sent out in an email today if you are on their email list.

You don't have to be on the list to get the rebate you can pick it up at the store. It goes on sale at 6pm just like the Apple store so do yourself a favor and save $40 bucks + there will be smaller lines.

MC is in the eastgate shopping center at mayfield rd. and SOM center rd. about 5 min from the apple store.

p.s. they also have a $50 rebate on the $1199 imac until sunday.

That's better than I've seen anywhere! And there are Microcenters around the country. Spread the word :) This weekend ONLY.

Awesome :) I'm glad for the low amount of people, I hope that the situation is the same at MicroCenter. Anyone else going there?

P.S. Steal an extra shirt for me ;)

I was half tempted to stop by there after work, just to see all the people waiting for a T shirt. Glad I didn't. I'll wait and see how it runs on other peoples OOc Mac minis

I got it at Microcenter, and those who went to the Apple store...Sorry :p

I got there at 5:52 and was at the register at 6:01. No line, maybe 10 people talking.

I was the 14 year old in a black "North Rangers" hoodie.

Installing now. 15 minutes left :)

Nah, I just went to MicroCenter, after seeing the pics above, and the post about 30-40 people in line.

I arrived at 6:30. The line was around a hundred or so. Waited about 15 minutes in line. Both my father and I got t-shirts. The one thing that did bother me was that you didn't have to buy Leopard to get the shirts. People were just going in, getting a shirt, and leaving. Seems oddball to me. Yet, whatever you want to do.

I'm going to install Leopard soon.

I just wanted to say thanks to the young lady (Brent's daughter, sorry forgot your nik) that took our pic while standing in line. Came out great. :D
Hope your experience with Leopard is going well too.
