I might be there. I'll have to decide if I have the money to buy right away or if I will just ask for it later for birthday or Christmas. Any idea if they will be doing the giveaway cards like the Tiger release???

Not sure. Rumor is they are giving away stuffed leopard toys. I don't remember the Tiger cards. I got the dog tags, I think for Tiger. They usually have the drawing for a free computer as well.

That makes sense... What advantage is there to going early before launch?

Depends on how much the UC computer store is gonna charge me. I just got iLife '08 for $40 and the cashier had no idea about Leopard pricing yet....

What all is involved in this launch party? I will plan on going, I get out of class at 2. Are there advantages to being there earlier?

Not much. The store will close at 4 and re-open at 6, and the first ( insert number ) of people with get a FREE T-Shirt or something.

I'll probably show up. I'm planning on skipping work to go!

Is there usually a long line or whatever?

Yo! I grew up in Covington, years ago (although there are those that dispute the fact that I have grown up). During the celebration there, someone please look south and hoist a cold one for me. I'm out in the Northwest now!

Thanks

I forgot for which version, but when the OS went on sale at midnight, there was a long line. These days the line is not too long. They probably will start lining up at 3:30 or by 4 when the store closes.

Hey, just thought I would upload my photos as I go along from Kenwood Towne Center. Taking pictures instead of waiting in line has made me #125 in line, but its all worth it!

That's my back in the orange striped shirt.....lots of fun....
I was surprised that they had shirts in different sizes, not just large.

Got leopard all installed, old stuff migrated without issues.

Yeah ... I ended up being about 40 or 50 in the line ... the best part was people walking by asking "What are you all standing in line for?" The best answer I heard was "To trade in Microsoft Vista for OS X 10.5".

Anyway, I too don't care for the new dock ... check this out:

We told people we were in line for the Build A Bear store and another person American Idol, lol It got old saying Apple's new operating system, when most did not seem to even understand that statement.
