OSX 10.6 Fluffykitten. New pink-based GUI theme and the startup chime is replaced by the sound of little tinkly bells.

Although I've typo'ed it the wrong way round :D
Your way is actually correct.
Although I bought OSX 10.0 the day it was released, it was at 10.1.3 that I finally made it my default OS. My iMac DV needed a bigger hard disk and more RAM straight off. Stuck with that until Panther was released, which was a major improvement in speed terms :)

Apparently:
Mac OS X versions are named after big cats. Prior to its release, version 10.0 was code named "Cheetah" internally at Apple, and "version 10.1 was code named internally as "Puma". After the immense buzz surrounding version 10.2, codenamed "Jaguar", Apple's product marketing began openly using the code name to promote the operating system. 10.3 was marketed as "Panther", and 10.4 as "Tiger". "Leopard" has been announced as the name for the next release, version 10.5. "Panther", "Tiger" and "Leopard" are registered as trademarks of Apple, but "Cheetah", "Puma" and "Jaguar" have never been registered. Apple has also registered "Lynx" and "Cougar" as trademarks.

Technically, Lion is the last big cat left. But I think Apple won't use it until the very last version of Mac OS X, before they move on to something completely different (Mac OS XI???).

Who gives one? It could be called Mac OS Turd and people would use it – it's not like you've got a choice.

Well that sure would be mysterious...
I've got a pretty good hunch that, come October 26th, Apple is going to scratch the whole Leopard idea and just go with OS 10.5 Sabretooth Tiger.

Here's my two cents
"House Cat"
or "Maine Coon"
This is how Apple would advertise it on it's website.
"Apple Mac OSX, 10.6 House Cat, a lot of features in one beautiful domesticated package"
