I tried installed the new Summerboard through the latest app installer but it tells me that I must un-install the old summboard first? Is this correct?
Can I just go to the installer app and un-install the previous version? Reboot and then install the new one?
No issues with this correct?

Did they change the string for Installer in N45AP? Mine is in 'special' but it doesn't hide the icon?

Did anyone else notice that the new version doesn't tell you how much space you have left for apps? Maybe i'm missing something, but that seems like a really key feature...

I've jailbroken my ipod using Touchfree but don't have any aps or anything installed yet aside from the two new icons that came with Touchfree. When I go to SMB Prefs, all the way at the bottoms it says
"SMBPRefs 3.0a9
SummerBoard 3.0a9 (active)"
So is this the SummerBoard to have? Or is there a better version? I see SummerBoard Version 2.11 available in my Installer ap. Should I get that one? Is that the one that makes the dock icons go to the top of the screen.
I've tried searching thru other threads, but can't find definitive answers. Please help. Thanks.

Hm, mine says v3.0b3. So you updated but it didn't really update? I read that some had to restart (power down, power on) the iPhone for it to take effect but I didn't. Not sure if firmware matters but are you running 1.0.2 or 1.1.1? (I'm running 1.0.2 btw).

I read on different forums that the calendar fix was buggy and crashed a great deal. Again, thats what I got from different forums. Maybe that is why they took it out. Just speculation.
Buggy in the sense that it was OK to add and edit it, it just messed up when you would sync back to the computer.

I think that this is only to re-order the icons. It is not adding new apps. Also, this is windows only at this time.

Is it just me, or do several of apps that I have heard of not showing up in the new Installer.app and Community sources? Can anyone confirm if OpenSSH is there, and where? And was it there in the earlier version of Installer.app?

the calendar edit is located in the N45AP.plist that arranges your icons so using iOrder should fix it. all you have to do is add the following two lines to the N45AP.plist file inside your Core Services' SpringBoard app.
<key>editableUserData</key>
<true/>
The plist is found at /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N45AP.plist
and i believe that iOrder does this since I did the calendar fix and replaced my N45AP.plist with the one iOrder generated and I still have the editing function

Installer 3 is incredibly slow to start up. Downloading and refreshing sources takes forever (Even when I don't have wifi so nothing is downloaded).
Hopefully an updated version is coming soon. Once the program finally starts, it works fine.

Must be your internet. It takes all of 5 seconds to load for me from waking up the Touch and sliding it on.

My internet is fine, I think it's okay when my iPod is connected. But for me it's mainly slow when I'm not on wifi, so it seems to hang trying to download an update instead of just going to the main screen.
Later I realized that if I just exit Installer, and then go back again, the refreshing progress bar disappears and I go straight to the category list, etc.
