When I delete something from my flash drive on my mac, it doesn't actually free up any space and i have to format the entire disk with disk utility every time. isnt there an easier way?

You need to empty the trash after you delete something...

You have to have the drive mounted when you empty the trash. 😉

I was quoted why? 😉

to the OP: if you want the files actually overwritten so they cannot be recovered, use "secure empty trash". That was what I was alluding to.
