Transfered my library to my external, really screwed up

So I transferred my itunes to my external drive and it went haywire, I pointed itunes to the new drive after moving the library but when itunes updated the library i found that not everything transferred and only some of the album artwork transferred.

What is the easiest way to do this?

what I did was delete everything from the library (not the files of course). Than change where I keep the library in the preferences and than re-import everything. It takes some time but you can see it goes and catch anything that messes up.
