Last year I bought THE Dutch dictionary, the ‘Groot Woordenboek van de Nederlandse Taal’. Its nickname is ‘The Fat VanDale’. It comes in three hefty volumes and a CD rom. I use the program often while writing reports because it integrates seamlessly with Word. A Dutch word only officially ‘exists’ if it is in this dictionary.
I just realized that tomorrow I’ll receive my iMac and that I’ll lose the use of the electronic version of this dictionary. Sigh. But just to be sure, I took out the manual that came with the CD. And lo and behold, it runs under OS X as well! I’m happy.
