Question about Leopard with MBP

got a 2.2ghz matte MBP for $1699 today through my University's computer store ($1799 with edu discount and took another $100 off for a limited time, as incentive to buy it from them) just went online, entered serial # and getting Leopard whenever it arrives. Will I be able to load the disks they gave me on all my macs (black macbook I Had previously - got it two months ago but i wanted a mbp so i'm giving the black macbook to my dad, iMac for mom, macbook white cd for brother) or just mine? Anyone have any clue?

If I can't load it on all computers, i'll probably just get it through my school's store for $69 and load it up from there.

this is my third mac laptop. i had a 1.83 cd mb and it died out of waranty (drive and optical drive), got black macbook 2.16 c2d two months ago but i wanted a bigger one so i got mbp today!

Unless you get a family pack w/multiple install, an single-user Leopard purchase means that you can only install it on one computer, per the Apple EULA.

Veritas has it. It is against the EULA to install Leopard on more than one machine, with the exception of the Family Pack which may or may not come with more than 1 copy of the disk (I would assume that it would come with 5 copies... but am not positive)

I will more than likely buy a 5 license, but I got my own copy of Leopard come since I just got this laptop. I don't have much of a problem paying for a good OS.

Yes, assuming they have Tiger already installed on their system drives.

But here at MR, we aren't really out to condone even the notion of doing as such.

I just told you that nothing is physically keeping you from doing it, but it is quite possibly illegal, or at least definitely in violation of the EULA from Apple.

when I get the disk I paid $10 for, I can do a clean install on my MBP right (and not an upgrade?) I only ask because with my experience from windows computers, upgrading is more problematic (and sacrifices performance) over just doing a fresh install.

I've never had a problem with the update. I just updated from 10.4 and haven't had any problems so far.
