My girlfriend's 1.8ghz G5 is in the mail with 512 RAM. She purchased an additional 512MB module from 18004memory.com. Can she just pop that in there or do DIMMs need to be added in pairs? I assumed this was only on the DP models but now I've read otherwise.

I mean... ordering another DIMM and bringing it up to 1.5GB of RAM wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.. ;-)

Yes it must be added in pairs. You will need to order another 512MB stick to upgrade the RAM. If the system was supposed to have 512MB already, then it most likely has 2 DIMMS.

It was interesting seeing that in the System Profiler for a 1.6Ghz G5 at the Apple Store. Takes a while to get used to.
