I have a bunch of old home movies that I want to convert from VHS to DVD and possibly do some editing in-between. I searched the forums and all of the posts that I found on this suggested using an eye tv or a mini DV camera, I don't have a mini DV camera, and the eye tv requires a G4 or better. the only G4 that i have is my powerbook which I cant let just sit there and capture video for the necessary time, so I have a G3 tower that I can let sit and capture the video to later edit on my powerbook. Is there any PCI card that I can get that would allow me to hook up a VCR and capture the output from it on my G3? It's a B&W G3, and I do not have the money to buy a new computer, so I need a way to do it with this, or another computer that could work with the eye TV for <$200. thanks for any help.

This is $200... all you need is vcr and a firewire cable.

Thanks that particular model seems to have been discontinued, but I'll pick up the DAC-200, since it is the replacement and should have similar quality.
