What will happen to my boot camp partition

What happens to my bootcamp partition if I decide to do a fresh installation of leopard (without changing partition sizes)? Is it just going to get deleted? Do I have to reinstall Windows xp after installing leopard? I don't really want to do a tiger to leopard upgrade as I like to install a fresh installation when it is a new operating system. Thanks!
 
my understanding is that you install leopard to your os x partition and it leaves your windows partition totally alone. so you should not have to worry.
