My UTD OS 10.5 is being shipped by USPS and has an estimated delivery date of Sunday Oct. 18 (do they even deliver on Sundays?) I bought a copy today as well from an Apple store for my brother, who won't be here for another few weeks. I am very anxious to install it now. Would the UTD OS X work on his non-eligable MacBook, or is it pre-configured to my serial?

It is just an update disk, checks for OS 10.4.x first.

It is a license, won't hurt to make both installs off the full copy.

And keep the extra Update disk around for those just in case moments.

Wait, your saying I can install Leopard on both Macs with ONE SINGLE-user 😕?

Yep, no serial numbers.

Your brother can install off the full copy of the OS when he gets in, the Up-to-date package should be in by then.

Install off the full retail, and give that to him for his install and keep the up-to-date package and license with your machine.
