rollover minutes

So I just switched plans from the 900 minute plan to the 450 minute plan. I just wasn't using my phone as much. I had a butt load of rollover minutes. It seems like I will only be able to keep 450 of them (given the agreement I had to "ok"). Is this true? Anyone know how it works?

Count yourself lucky, on Vodafone if someone has rollover minutes and they change their priceplan at all, all rollover minutes are lost.

yes, this is true. a few years ago, i switched from a 600 minute plan to one with 450 minutes, and i was only able to keep 450 of my three thousand-something rollover minutes. it didn't really bother me, though. it isn't like i ever really need them.

Back before I had my iPhone, I had a razr from AT&T. When my wife and I got married, she switched her cell plan to AT&T so we could have a family plan. I had 3000 rollover minutes at the time, and they told me I would only get to keep 750 of them. Well, none of them went away. I have over 4500 now.

I have the rollover plan as well and have been putting minutes into my rollover amount for months now. Are you saying that they will only allow me to keep a certain amount of minutes? I had planned after piling up 8 or 9 thousand minutes that I would lower my plan for a few months and save some cash. When I asked to be switched over to the rollover plan, they said I could use all of them... is that incorrect?

Must be an ATT thing. I switched plans a few times a while ago with Cingular and still retained all my minutes.

Really its more of a marketing thing, if you dont use them one month what are the odds you will use them PLUS toll over the next? Very little. Now if you drop to a lower rate in order to use them, thats different.

how big of a minute plan do you have? even if you could retain all your rollover minutes from lowering your rate plan, your rollover minutes expire after twelve months. can you build that many rollover minutes in a year?

My plan is the 1350 minute plan. I am on the phone much less now since I am working for myself as opposed to when I worked for FOX and had a BB. On average I'm putting about 350 - 500 minutes into rollover each month. I was thinking after 9 months lowering my plan, using my rollover minutes up, then raising my plan again. They told me that I could do this but I think we all learned during the AT&T activation disaster that their accuracy when giving info could be questioned.
