Hi people, i wanted to ask how much could i sell my Powerbook G4 17 inch. Its really big and i need portability, besides, they tell me that a current macbook is like having 4-5 powerbooks together. My specs are: 17' inch screen with NO dead pixels, 1.5Ghz, 2GB Ram, 80GB Hdrive, bluetooth, wireless, Superdrive. The notebook is in MINT pristine condition. No scratches whatsoever. I was asking for $1000 but somebody offered me 800$. should i take that offer or keep looking for the $1k one? Is the macbook really 4-5 times faster than powerbook G4? Well guys thanks for your opinions...

Indeed the Macbook(pros) are 4-5 times faster than the Powerbook. I'd say around 1k is it's value (max 1200). I'd sell it for the most possible personally, but if you'd rather take a $200 loss and sell it quickly, then all the power to ya :)

whoa, 1200-1000 is too much that's 1.83 mbp territory.

yours is worth 700-800

If you can sell that PowerBook for $1,000 then lucky you. :) The person who offered $800 obviously knows his "stuff" and is a fair deal in my opinion.

Be sure to zero out the hard drive and re-install the operating system before you hand it over.

I'm selling the same PB as you (minus the 2gb ram), but having a hard time getting offers. At this point, I'll even take offers of $775 plus shipping. It's hard to believe I bought this in July of 2006 for $1100.

good luck!

Sorry..."price check" threads are limited to the Marketplace forum, and you must have 100 posts to start a thread there in order to have established a reputation and familiarity here. We've had too many people trying to "beat the system" by starting price check threads elsewhere that evolve into "for sale" threads.
